@ disappointedfangirl - Several of your reasons for her accent being fake sound like ignorant nationalist racism. Her "diction..." "ACTUAL British accent that's eloquent?" U apparently haven't heard the variations of English accents which can be far from "eloquent!" Ever heard of cockney? Anyway. Majority of the people who made comments against her were only questioning the validity because she's a Black woman. Military brats always say they're from "All over!" I know this because my children are military brats & my fellow veteran/mil brat friends also say the same! If she lived there up to middle/HS it's absolutely possible for her to have an accent. This is nothing more than typical microaggressions even Black people from England face... "Where are you REALLY from..."

I actually went to middle school in Alpharetta with Tyara and high school with both her and Kim. Kim has always been pretty into herself and is very condescending. Tyara was actually among the "popular" crowd in school and if anything she was the one bullying people. she definitely didn't have an accent, the person she's portraying on this show is completely fake.

I faked an accent once at summer camp for attention lol . I'm sure most people voted yes because they misread the question . It's def fake it went away when she talk to her brother annnd her story changed like 3 times .
Tya was my favorite in the house until seeing how often she was on edge even in a situation uncalled for. At first I felt for her, but as I began to understand her, Tya couldn't accept being a basic btch that was really into beauty. Her negative reaction to social situations,
how negatively she reacted to EVERY situation that would be uncalled for. At first I felt for her but as I began to understand, Tya always seemed on edge and it revealed how hard she's trying to be herself and her race and heres multiple reasons why.
1) When Tya first met Theo, she directly avoided his question of 'where you from' by replying, 'im from everywhere'. at the end of the conversation, she doesn't even mention where after placing theo in an uncomfortable 'why you asking' tone when the situation was a nice-to-meet-you-where-are-you-from. she'll answer in her interviews, but was NEVER spoken to a housemate.
2) After confronted with rumors, she calls her brother, who has no accent, and ONLY mentions that Kim is at the house, but never mentioned the drama she caused. also listen to the way she says BRO multiple times.
3) when Peter confronted her accent, she immediately went to last stage of defense: berserk mode. If someone called you out for having a fake prada bag that was not true, would u screamshoutpunch them?
4) Tya has no social media accounts before 2016. her only public profile is twitter where she posts pics of her natural brown fro with wide curls. which also seemed fake. This may seem like irrelevant information but it relates to her being cyber bullied that she had to shut down and make accounts private. social media doesn't easily condone bullying if Kims facts weren't true.
5) Despite Jordans attempt to break the ice & get to know Tya better as a group, Tya dismisses her for simply being beautiful and confident. Quick to victimize herself to justify her uncalled explosions. In her eyes the prettiest black girl is the obvious villain in the woods.
Mike obviously instigated Robby to rage and Tya's immediate blame was jordan just cause she expressed how disappointed she was when not everyone played. But wouldn't you feel sad if you devised an ice breaker and a group member refused to just answer a question.
6) Not to be rude, but her diction is poor in contrast to actual british language that's eloquent, expressive and diplomatic. Sometimes I think she automatically yells because she can't keep up the posh.
When Tya failed to speak in pivotal moments and uphold herself from petty anger and I began to see a woman who was insecure and didn't know how to appreciate and embrace herself and ethnicity that she created this mystery posh character to be above and relevant. But she doesn't realize that harsh criticism is obviously the consequence of pretending. If someone asked if she naturally had green eyes, I bet she would agree and ride them along and be gone when they finally see the light.

Tyara story and accent changed in the 1st 4 shows. In her casting interview, she said she was u.s. born and uk raised. Then she later said she went to UK afterms high school. Also when she is talking to her brother on the phone, her accent isn't the same.
She does things for attention. I think the accent is just another thing she is doing to get attention.
