Yes - Muay Thai teaches the most effective punches, elbow strikes, knee strikes & kicks for a MMA match.
No - It is better to learn striking at a pure MMA school in order to practice techniques that come from a wide variety of martial arts styles.
No - You do not need just Muay Thai. Training from any solid striking martial arts (i.e. Karate or Taekwondo) is useful for MMA.
