Should we get rid of developer submissions?

Please keep this going. This is how we can help the few developers who still support windows phone. If one is not interested in a particular app one can just ignore.

I honestly have gotten annoyed with all these developer submissions. I say if they want to advertise their app do it in a non news article format off somewhere in the corner of the website so that it doesn't flood the notifications of people who have the app and have app notifications on or so people who are scrolling through the website don't suffer a similar fate. And a tiny bit more quality control would be nice. I remember when I saw an article about adaplect and thought"oh. Someone made a clone riftcat for windows phone" only to find out that is not the case at all. Besides that I know a large amount of people genuinely find it helpful so I personally would not remove it.

Like Aaron, I too use this to find apps I wasn't aware of & have purchased a few based on these postings. They are easily identified as such, so the reader can decide whether to read the article or not & if they choose to, they know it is really an advertisement.
I think it would be a big shame if this feature was removed.
Not sure what your stats are; however, I access your site through your Win10 apps on Desktop & Mobile, so perhaps put an option to 'hide' Developer Submissions from the app; that way if readers don't want to see them; they won't; but PLEASE don't discontinue this feature.

Maybe filter a bit more on your side, so the post is better and the quality of the app too, also don't allow développer to make a post every 2 week because he added a feature( i remember that battery app that came back all the time ), every 2-3 months is good i think.

So keep them, but control more the quality ?

if not missing interesting app info = yes.
    See Aaron's well formulated post.

Keep 'em. But make sure they're clearly labelled as such.

This is one of the main ways I find interesting apps. I would be interested if another way of showcasing developer submissions was implemented. My thought is yes/no. 'No' based on your reasoning and 'yes' as I just feel I may be missing out on interesting apps in an already limited store.
