Should Fox have suspended Judge Napolitano over his baseless Trump Tower wiretapping claims?

Shepherd Smith should go, not the judge

Since the Judge spoke out, congressman Devin Nunes has also brought forth information that Trump campaign was surveilled, and American citizens unmasked, inadventently or perhaps deliberately and in an indirect way that would not be easy to attribute as illegal. What is Fox trying to hide and why do you not stand by the Judge who is one of your most interesting and incisive commentators. Give him a chance to defend himself, clear his name, or apologize if he was wrong. What Fox is doing is censorship, plain and simple, and will lose viewers if you keep this up.

Judge Napoitano is too intelligent and ethical to make a baseless claim. Of course he will protect his sources. Time will show that Fox has jumped the gun and discredited one of its best correspondents. I agree with previous comments regarding Shepard Smith who is so blatantly anti-Trump i cannot stand to listen his egotistical rants. Bring back the Judge now before you embaras yourself further.

Ethics violations? Really? So tell me FNC, what flavor is YOUR Kool-Aid? Like you never heard of journalists protecting their sources? Get a clue you morons! My money's on Judge Nap. Most trusted man on television.

Judge Napolitano relied on confidential sources. He did no more than reporters at the Times. Censoring or firing him would be, I believe unconstitutional as it would be based on political ideology and violates equal protections. I believe.

The judge is well respected and I feel he would not make any unsubstantiated claims. He must have sources. As it turns out, there was surveillance done, so he was right. Please bring him back!

Bring Judge Napolitano back. BIG mistake

Judge Napolitano is the most trustworthy person on television, on any channel. If he says he has heard this from multiple sources, he's telling the truth.

It's Fox's loss for firing him, and they should rehire him.

I also agree that Shepard Smith is awful and should be fired, but that's a different issue.

New York Times says Trump was wiretapped. FBI says no proof. No one lost their job there. Most people think Obama would do this. I'm sure nappy would have had a good reason to say what he did. May have been disinformation from the government. More likely what he said was true and the pressure was put on Fox to back away for the statement. Judge Napolitano a message to you. Stay strong. Right makes might.

The Judge is one of the most trusted people I know and I think it is a mistake for Fox to let him go. On the other hand, I cannot stand the bias that Shepherd displays. I would not miss him a bit since I refuse to listen to him...

YES! Shepherd should go! Judge Napolitano should come back!

Suspending Judge Napolitano is doing a disservice to him & us followers. I'll miss him but not Fox.

Interesting situation. First off, I don't find it odd at all that our CIA and FBI and NSA and the Brits deny the claim. Does any rational person believe Comey would actually come out and say, "oh, well, yeah, we listened in..." ? Course not. But saying "I have no information" is not the same as saying "No." And saying "Utterly ridiculous" is not the same as saying "No.".
Fact : the POTUS can order surveillance of any US citizen, at any time, for any reason.
Fact: every phone call placed and/or answered in the US since 2005 has been recorded.
Fact: we all know that "hangers-on" and sycophants for Presidents have taken it upon themselves to do shady stuff, sometimes with, sometimes without, presidential approval or knowledge.. wink wink nudge nudge. See "Nixon, Richard M.", "Johnson, Lyndon B", "Reagan, Ronald" and "Bush et all"...
Would it surprise me if Obama called the chief spymaster of NSA into the Oval Office in late 2016 and came out and said, "Hey, can you guys listen in on TheDonald for a little while ?" Yeah, that would surprise me.
Would it surprise me if some slightly lower level flunky or some Democratic party hack let it slip that it would be neat to hear what DT was talking about one time or another, and someone else bumped that up the line, and someone else told his friend and that guy mentioned it to his buddy at Verizon and.....

Get the picture? I never used to be a tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist, but more and more, as the BS comes out about bad behavior by the boys and girls in DC, on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE, I get more and more suspicious, and less and less trusting.

Since the people who listened in will NEVER admit it if they did, (if they did) and the odds that they did are better than 50/50, I have to think that there may be a bigger grain of truth at the bottom of this pile of crap than many of us originally believed.

And I am NOT a Trump supporter, by any means. I think the man's a nutcase and/or a shyster of the highest order.

I am sure the Hon Judge has this info or he would not make this up.
No country would admit they conspired with Obama. No moral compass now.

Fire Shepherd instead!! He is so mean spirited. Judge Napolitano is so smart and honest!

  • Diane - 7 years ago

Is Fox going liberal like CNN? We have watched this channel for almost 20 years, you have changed for the worst. Suspending Judge Napalitano was so so wrong and I agree with another comment, get rid of Shepherd Smith, he's changed just like Megan Kelly, left left left. Come on Fox you are our channel, you must consider what news is left, I will NEVER watch CNN, MSNBC or NBC, for that matter CBS OR ABC.

One suspects that the so-called judge refused to reveal his unnamed sources, or worse, he did reveal to the Fox higher ups that his allegations were unsubstantiated. Hard to imagine Fox suddenly decided to place a high priority on truthiness, otherwise many of their talking heads would also be shown the door.

Shepherd should go Not the judgel I believe the judge

  • Jean connor - 7 years ago

Absolutely, and I repeat, absolutely NOT, you take the Judge off the air and I go to CNN for my news.
