Superman's greatest power is the power to inspire. He can find Jean inside the Phoenix and neutralize her.

Phoenix recognizes how powerful Clark is as a person plus his powers... Decides to switch hosts to Superman. The weakened Jean grey is then incinerated by Phoenix force heat vision.

The only thing I can see superman doing is punching Phoenix and he's not Saitama. It's the only thing he has. His mental defence isn't 100% and who knows what the new 52 can do.
Phoenix is much of a power- house and I don't think physical strength alone will win the battle.
Phoenix would most likely win this battle.

Gotta go with Phoenix. She can simply crush his mind with a thought.

Superman, the true one, will and should win.

I'd have to go with Phoenix. She could simply depower him by draining his cells of yellow sun energy or transport him to the other side of the universe.

While I am not as well versed in Superman as I am Phoenix, from what I keep seeing is that fans keep citing different versions of Superman that would counter one version of Phoenix. I Million Superman, Silver Age Superman, Superman. Is this a contest between every version of Superman rolled into one vs Phoenix, or Superman (current form) vs Jean Grey Phoenix? If it's the former, then you can cite every reason under the yellow/blue/red/whatever sun to justify a win for Superman "because he's Superman" and probably find some way that he would win. If it's the latter, hands down Jean (for reasons listed by other posters).

Phoenix has atomic level telekinesis. She could turn Supe's cape (or literally every molecule with a mile of him) into Kryptonite. Please.

Yes superman might be the fastest man and strongest man alive but Jean Greys Powers Are Very Powerful She Even Surpassed Xavier's powers Besides Its Known That With the Dark Phoenix She Can Beat Superman. She Is The Destroyer Of Planets Even If Superman Went Regime Still No Match For Her. Not Even The Xmen Couldn't Stop Her.

Phoenix must give off some type of radiation that will affect Kryptonian DNA and I have faith that it will be beneficial to Clark.

Phoenix would take out superman not on Strength but power alone, that's without the fact that Phoenix force is a type of entity/magic so would he dealing double damage to Supes.

  • Mike - 7 years ago

Supers will win. Supes can tank anything phoenix can throw at him. Supes has been able to resist 50 supernovas that even the phoenix forces wouldn't be able to tank. Torquasm Vo virtually enables superman to resist reality warping and mind control powers. Supes can move at speeds faster than thought he'd snap her neck or knock her out before she can say "scott". Compared to mxyzptlk Pheonix force is a walk in the park. Supes can bear the wait of the Spectre who's weight can only be measured by eternity. Supes fought toe to toe with imperiex whos been known to be bear enough power to cause another "Big Bang", etc. Supes sun dipping for 60s could toe planets in Our Worlds At War arc just imagine what being exposed to the fires of the phoenix force would do.

If we spook about the true Phoenix living in a host: Nobody others than cosmic entities as the Beyonder (s) or/ the Living Tribunal is able to stop this cosmic force. Even Galactus was not able to stop the Phoenix.

The concept of the Phoenix power is based on the increasing of growth of the universe. As some scientific told us this growth is higher than lightspeed:( if we know that our universe is old of 13 billions year, the size of our known universe is 45 billions light year). That means that the power of the Phoenix is impossible to block even you explode the host, the phoenix power restore the host. The phoenix power can restructure the material level atomic with one though. Superman is a solar battery, and the phoenix eats solar. The only chance for superman is to convince the human host to stop to act. As the phoenix is linked to the essence of the universe if you want to win physically that means to destroy yourself.

Superman wins. With 30 minutes of prep time Superman would go to the Fortress of Solitude and retrieve some kind of device that would protect him. He has alien tech and future tech there. Jean Grey would lose her advantage. Also, if she tried to manifest that big firebird, he'd freeze it and shatter it. Superman wins

"Also, Superman was strengthened by Apollo' s attacks in their fight, who's to say he couldn't absorb her attacks as well. Considering he's known tobe powered by not only yellow suns but blue ones as well, and any other type of solar radiation."

Phoenix eats SUNS. End of "battle".

Phoenix is a god superman is just a living being. No battle here just a wipeout

Don't try to reason this one out. You can't. Superman wins. Why? Because Superman always wins. He always finds a way. He's the first superhero and the last. He's a symbol for millions and the most important fictional character of the 20th century. He changes things in the real world as easily as he does in fiction. There is no comparison and there can be no real argument. Superman doesn't--and cannot--lose.

Force of nature vs a alien. no contest.

  • Jack - 7 years ago

Also, Superman was strengthened by Apollo' s attacks in their fight, who's to say he couldn't absorb her attacks as well. Considering he's known tobe powered by not only yellow suns but blue ones as well, and any other type of solar radiation. Superman also has the one million version to think about as well, and his less powerful sun-dipped for a much shorter time form. In all honestly I still say Superman, respect to Phoenix of course.

  • Jack - 7 years ago

Superman has been shown to repel psychic bombardment.

  • eric smith - 7 years ago

superman can move faster than thought and therefore would get the first shot; however, the phoenix feeds off stellar energy; therefore, superman's heat vision would either be absorbed or phoenix would suck the energy out of superman's solar powered body; furthermore, superman is not immune to psychic attacks--all things that phoenix would learn from superman by reading his mind before fighting him (with the 30 minute prep time)
    Phoenix wins hands down

  • joshua clark - 7 years ago

phoenix would wipe him out literally.
