“Do you think the county’s recently enacted moratorium on major alternative energy systems is a good idea?”

We're living in The Land of Moratoriums! It seems like if local government doesn't like something that is legal, moratoriums are used to skirt the will of the people. "We need more time to think about it." Let the foot-dragging and extensions of the moratoriums begin. I'm sure there are occasional good uses for these freezes on actions that would be difficult - perhaps even impossible - to undo later, but I've never lived anywhere that used them so heavily. Blocking clean energy is just another example.

The Growth Management Act has it's tentacles inside the County's comprehensive plan and this plan dictates the placement ,through zoning, for solar projects and all other activity that once was the right of the property owner. The question is with all this authoritative oversight why is there any discussion? It is in the plan and the appropriate locations have been decided. Washington State planning with it's passionate support for renewable energy appear to mean nothing.

The county commissioner do not look to the future of this county. They will spend our money, but for what, to make them look good.
Take care of Kittitas County residents, not the west side individuals. This is Kittitas County not King County, listen to the local people. We live here, our children go to school here, we shop in our local stores. The sight of solar panels is a lot better than condominiums or town houses. We also need affordable housing in this county, what are they doing to help this problem???

This is people, enraptured with the love of money, taking from other human beings what should be FREE to everyone! No one should have to pay money to "live". Get with the resource-based economy and be prepared to watch the fall of the "economy" which is based on growth. Nothing can grow forever. Let us OFF this wheel!
