Wearing a helmet not only protects the rider, it protects the rider's family, the community, everyone. When someone has a devastating brain injury we all share the cost, and $10,000 in mandatory coverage doesn't even begin to cover the cost of diagnostic procedures, medical treatment, lost wages, etc. etc. Unbelievable that helmets are not mandatory in Florida. Just another indication of what a crazy state this is. If it weren't for the weather, doubt any rational person would live here.
