Key word here is "indiscriminate." Fireworks handled & ignited safely can be fun. Recent pointless deaths -- 50? -- are indicators that regulation, safe storage & handling guidelines THAT ARE FOLLOWED are overdue.

Fireworks are an old tradition in Mexico, loved by most Mexicans and fun to watch. Sure, there can be accidents. Mexicans are intelligent and can decide this for themselves. Another comment indicates that all tourists hate fireworks --- not so. I know many Americans and Canadians who enjoy seeing them.

It's a waist of money, the people do not have, it's dangerous. There are other ways to celebrate than with fireworks. All of the tourist just hate the fireworks, scares their kids and animals. Should be stopped immediately, spend that money on something good.
