Should there be restrictions on the VPD's involvement in Pride Parade?

I could not agree more with the first 4 comments in this thread, thank you for articulating your ideas in such a kind and sensible manner - a quality I wish BLM was capable of.

I am not going to the parade this year. Everything was great before the "black lives matter" inserted themselves in it. Way to spoil a great party. I feel strongly that "black lives matter" should be excluded from it next year as they don't understand the spirit of this parade.

BLM shouldn't be given special rights to bully other community members. Why should BLM be given the rights to depict how other LGBT members can celebrate their sexual orientation? As a member of the LGBT community, I am boycotting the parade this year because Vancouver Pride society did not stand up for its spirit- inclusiveness.

BLM is piggy backing on an event to spread their platform.
The members of the Pride society that brought this even into discussion should be ashamed of themselves.
What's next? People don't feel safe if straight people show up? Are we going to ask them not to participate? No. Because that's ridiculous.

The Pride parade people were fine with the Police participation until "The Black Lives Matter" inserted themselves in the parade and upset the apple cart. If they are so upset with the Police then start your own ----- parade and get out of the faces of the Pride parade and those that come out to enjoy it. Who knows you might lighten up and enjoy yourselves at your own little parade. Just saying
