Aw, bummer! I was too late to this poll. To add to disappointment: Lynch's often-overlooked The Straight Story came out the loser here. This movie deserves stronger consideration, as it's quite different from Lynch's other work. Having never been a Twin Peaks fan, I think The Straight Story was also my favorite of his films. It was surprisingly sweet, straight-forward and without the director's usual quirks. Plus, I believe it was a Disney film, one of the best of their modern live-action films.
Side note: this and Mira Nair's Queen of Katwe were among Disney's best, both with auteur directors and both greatly overlooked by audiences.

Any of these would be great to talk about but The Elephant Man is my fave of the three.

Straight Story deserves to be discovered or rediscovered!

The Straight Story is so underrated and deserves to stand up there with Lynch's finest work, Badalamenti's score is so moving too.
