What Villian Had the Best Redemption?

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @111: Oh and she doesn't feel like the same character reformed, villains keeps their personalities and voices (unless the body changes) when reformed yet Starlight didn't. It's like villain Starlight was exchanged with a doppelganger or something. When villains reform they keep their personality and voice, they just become good instead. I thought people didn't like OOC, but support Starlight being so for one and a half season now.

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @111: I read it all and I still stand by my points as most of them are not explained and she took away the chances for the remane 5 to get finales and premieres. She's overpowered for no reason and the writers try too hard to make her look like she's the best in everything. She still feels shoved down my throat in the show and I get bored, upset and sad watching her episodes. I try have people change my mind, but lately I've been thinking about starting to skip her episodes.

    go ahead, and read this all. and tell me why Starlight is a bad character. with valid reason this time, no more buzz words.

  • Seth - 7 years ago

    The fact that some people feel Starlight Glimmer had "The Best Redemption" is worrying, as it was the worst written episode in the entire series. The following season wasn't bad, but her redemption would have been written better by a 5 year old.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Timmy Menard

    amen brother! -does the best and awesome high five ever- Sunset Shimmer is for sure to going to win this poll!

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    Seeing Sunset Shimmer get more votes than all the other redeemed villains in this poll shows that you don't mess with the Golbez of My Little Pony!

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    The reason why Sunset Shimmer gets the most votes is because people often compare Sunset Shimmer to Golbez. They fell from grace one time due to their tragic backstories, but turned themselves around after being purified by a holy element. Afterwards, they no longer become evil and join the heroes as their respective sequels. Sunset Shimmer's redemption may have been rushed, but I don't care. People are more familiar with Sunset Shimmer's redemption than all the other characters, so that's why Sunset Shimmer is going to win this poll.

  • Concerned Bystander - 7 years ago

    Why is Sunset Shimmer have the most votes? She had literally the worst reformation of all. She was totally evil, then they just shot her with a magic laser and poof. She is an angel. I am not saying she is a bad character, but she definitely had the worst reformation. I think a lot of people are misunderstanding this poll.

  • lyricjam - 7 years ago

    I thought Sombra would be the first 1 in this list. He betrayed his whole race at the end and went on a journey to restore the former princess of the crystal empire.

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook: I actually hope someone can prove me wrong about Starlight someday, because hating a character like this is something I don't really want nor like to do. Honestly, I still wish she'd grow on me like characters I originally dislike usually does.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Kieye

    Heh. we will see if someone proves that to you ;)

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook: Although you replied to someone else I'd still like to say, if you really read my comments you should know I have more reason than that. I don't know how you can assume even when I've explained the real reason. Her backstory and reformation can still be expanded on, even I admit that. But that doesn't fix the other problems I mentioned. You can go ahead and like her, but I'll stand by my point. Unless someone can prove me otherwise of course, but so far no one has succeeded with that.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Sailor Sedna

    once again, I get it already and it gets repetitive for me when someone says Respecting Opinions >:T

    -sigh- look. why do y'all even hate Starlight Glimmer in the first place because of her Back Story and Reformation? that's just really low because of that. y'all can't overhate a character just because of a Weak Back Story and Quick Reformation >:(

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook

    Um, buddy, there's this new thing: it's called, "respecting opinions", which is not what you're doing.

    Plus I've seen some "typical Starlight Glimmer haters" (I'm neutral over Starlight myself) actually make valid points as to why they hate her.

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    Spoiler Alert:Sunset Shimmer is the best redeemed villain.

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook: You can't even explain why? Well, that's proof enough she's not a good character at all.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Kieye

    like I said, Typical Starlight Glimmer hater >:T

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    I bet Juniper Montage must be the Gabranth of My Little Pony other than the fact that she doesn't die.

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    Something tells me the Golbez of My Little Pony will win this poll.

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook: Then explain how she's well written, because I can't see how she is at all. I've never hated something until tarlight Glimmer, the closest I've ever felt negatively about characters is dislike. Usually slight dislike, but very rare times stronger dislike. But Starlight Glimmer is the first I've seriously hated. So explain how she's a good character because all I see is a POORLY written character shoved down my throat, who's overpowered for no reason, is like a new person reformed, with a changed voice after being reformed and is taking away the remane 5's chance of two parters.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Kieye

    typical Starlight Glimmer hater >:T

  • Kieye - 7 years ago

    Starlight Glimmer is overrated. She's a poorly written character and people still love her, that's not understanding what a well written characters actually is.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Timmy Menard

    I agree with you on that man! :D

  • Timmy Menard - 7 years ago

    I voted Sunset Shimmer because she's a perfect example of being a sinner. Evildoers usually act immature and selfish wanting things to their way and act like a big baby when it doesn't work as planned for that villain.
    Heroes are the polar opposite. They are mature and are motivated by friendship giving justice to the evildoer for their malice. We are glitches and Sunset Shimmer is no exception. Compared to other villain redemptions, Sunset Shimmer has the best redemption arc. It shows that you don't mess with the Golbez of My Little Pony.

  • Cat's Tuxedo - 7 years ago

    I went with Discord. His pace of redemption was just right, the development of his relationships feels organic and he still feels like the same guy in spite of his change in alignment.

  • Richard - 7 years ago

    Come on Starlight, you can win. Sunset Shimmer is good but is from EQG, Starlight is now an important character in the main series.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Sailor Sedna

    yeah yeah I get the saying of opinions and respecting other's opinions a thousand times already! frankly it starts to get repetitive for me lately :T

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Jimmy Hook

    Ever heard of the word "opinion" and this thing called "respecting opinions?" I mean, I don't get all enraged when people hate Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie.

  • David - 7 years ago

    Best Redemption - Diamond Tiara/Starlight Glimmer
    Worst Redemption - Sunset Shimmer/Luna (rainbow to the face & instantly good)

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    @Aponymous

    HEY! do not, I repeat, DO NOT disrespect My #1 and My All Time Favorite Character Ever in the Entire Series like that! you do not want to tick off a Brony who loves Sunset Shimmer so much!

  • Solecks - 7 years ago

    I can´t believe Gilda is so down, the only memorable thing of Diamond Tiara´s redemption, is the cutie mark crusaders getting their cutie mark

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Aponymous

    But in Rainbow Rocks she did improve and get better as a character which showed her redemption was earned.

  • Aponymous - 7 years ago

    Seriously? People are voting for sunshit? Her "redemption" was getting blasted by the FRIENDSHIP BEAM(tm) and instantly, literally 10-second-instantly, becoming a sobbing, sympathetic mess.

    Fuck that. Literally the worst and most rushed "redemption" in the entire franchise....plus it was part of a garbage movie.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Peter

    Speak for yourself. Sadly a lot of fans including me think it's about as amazing and charming as a dog being hit by a car, and we have our reasons.

  • Peter - 7 years ago

    Enslaved ponies 1000 years AGO not for 1000 years. Than he date a spell to make the Crystal Empire disappear for 1000 years. Also Hope said "What if I offered you the chance to get rid of that pesky Applejack for good?" No where does it state that she was going to kill them a lot of other villains make the same claims. And when they say that it means making them get tricked and leave a specific place for now or capture them. Also no this is easily one of the best arcs of the comics next to Reflections.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Peter

    I did not make up half of my claims, it said Sombra over 1000 years ago before being sealed away had enslaved the Crystal ponies.

    Did you even read the beginning of the issues also, Hope said to the Flim Flam Bros. and Lightning Dust something like "do you want me to make sure to get rid of that pesky Applejack for good?" or something like that. I think you need to re-read this arc.

    If it is canon, then they ruined one of the best villains of the show. But I don't really care about the comics anyways anymore, they've gone downhill.

  • Peter - 7 years ago

    @Sailor Sedna
    First Sombra never killed a princess second he never enslaved for 1000 years only for a few months at best before being defeated by he two princesses he never killed anypony not even once. He actually had a reason for doing this instead of just wanting to take over the world. Also his series is literally Friendship is Magic so what's wrong with characters like Sombra and Starlight changing sides after realizing their mistakes? Also Hope even had a small talk with him in the third issue which caused him to question whether or not his is he right thing to do. Before finally being convinced with Crystal Heart. Hope got tricked into thinking the Unbrums were trapped here for no reason. Because they convinced her that they wanted to help Sombra and she has always loved him. Also Hope never did anything that made it seem like she was going to kill the Mane 6 where did you even get that from? Also after she found out the truth she tried to tell Sombra to not release hem but Twilight accidentally shot a magical beam at her which caused Sombra to get mad and release the Umbrums. Seriously when did she keep flopping around and than joined he Umbrums? She was only safe from the Umbrums because Sombra told them to not hurt her. After she learned the truth she's been trying to convince him to stop the madness and not follow his destiny. Also she clearly flet guilty for being tricked by the Umbrums in the third issue. Finally no they didn't go did scot free they gave themselves the mission to find the missing pieces of Princess Amore's statute that he scattered around Equestria. You see I answered every one of the things that you hated about this arc even though you pretty much made up half of them. Also to bad for you the comics might be canon soon with the news about comics tying into Season 7. Well I should have known somebody would hate this the moment I posted my first comment.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Peter

    Sombra didn't deserve it because, would you want someone who killed a Princess, endangered Hope's homeland, turned three ponies to stone, including Twilight's brother, and enslaved an entire race of ponies for 1,000 years to be reformed/turned good? Would you want someone who say, committed terrorism, took over or destroyed a country and killed over 1000 people, even if he was good at first, to be redeemed?

    And like I mentioned, him just handing it over there was just half-assed as there was NO buildup at all as to what Sombra was doing, and if there was any indication, I probably was yawning, but there were none.

    Plus Hope, even if she was the whole "screw destiny" thing, was a terribly written character, she deliberately put her land in danger and betrayed Equestria for stupid reasons, she acted like she was going to kill the Mane Six, she stupidly trusted those Umbrum, when she found out the truth, she flip flopped back and forth, STILL sided with the Umbrum/Sombra by defending him with her being in love with him, and caused the Umbrum to break free. And she NEVER felt any guilt or any wrongdoing of her actions, that's why a ton of us hate her and this arc. If she was actually just killed off, I would have liked the story much much better. She's also a Mary Sue because she somehow has all those powers to bring Sombra back and such, has a tragic backstory that's supposed to generate sympathy from us, she does all of those heinous actions, gets her boyfriend, and she and Sombra get no consequences for their crimes and just go off when they should have been just tossed in prison.

    But then again, this comic is non-canon.

  • nona - 7 years ago

    Voting discord just because his only motivation for wanting to reform is so he can bone fluttershy. lol.

  • Feanor - 7 years ago

    You know, I am all for Bacon-hair and all, but I'm really surprised Diamond Tiara is not at the top of this list. Lost Mark was one of the hardest hitting emotional moments in the whole show.

  • Jimmy Hook - 7 years ago

    Sunset Shimmer FTW (For The Win)

  • Peter - 7 years ago

    I never really understood why people hated on Sombra's reformation when he arguably had the best one yet along with the best backstory of everybody on this list. He always believed he can't escape his destiny of becoming a villain so he became one just like Eobard Thawne finding out his destiny to become the Reverse Flash. But instead Radiant Hope showed him that he can escape from destiny by denying it as Radiant Hope denied her destiny of becoming an alicorn in the past 1000 years just to find a way to revive Sombra. After being shown his reflection on the Crystal Heart once more he saw that he no longer sees his destiny of leading the umbrum in it, instead all he sees is just a reflection of himself and what he has become. So he decides to make things right for once and returned the Crystal Heart. All the while fulfilling his dream from since he was a filly of seeing the Crystal Faire.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    And one other thing I want to say is, am I the only one who feels this redemption thing is getting old? I mean I know the show has stuff with "friendship" and Twilight is the Princess of Friendship but still, it's getting annoying.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    Sombra (comic) shouldn't even be on here. There was no reason why he had to be redeemed after all the shit he did, I don't care if he was "good" before. If there were oh so any scenes where he was questioning what he did, I must have been in the middle of yawning, but as far as I'm concerned, none were there, and it was all very half-assed. At least this is non-canon to the show.

    @sapphire475gs

    Don't even bother finishing, it's a piece of shit.

  • Black - 7 years ago

    Dumb people are whining about other's opinions.
    Most people (including me) think that Sunset redemption is the best redemption.
    About Discord.. That's even not redemption. He fuckin' incarnation of chaos, doing stuff like this is his nature.
    Discords redemption is meme, he just become Flutters friend and now he avoiding to hurt her. ????

  • Red - 7 years ago

    Dumb people are doing a popularity contest instead actually answering a question.

    Question is not "Which character you like the most?" Its "Which villain had a best redemption?"

    And Sunset along with Starlight had the WORST redemptions, where they basically became brainwashed and their original characters ceased to exist. Discord is the only villain who has a realistic redeption arc. Being interested in frinedship with Fluttershy as a carrot on a stick. He still make mistakes from his old life but slowly grasp the basic of behaving himself. Only recently he actually made something heroic for Fluttershy.

  • Yim Gian Song - 7 years ago

    Equestria Girls (Sunset) is CANON.
    https://twitter.com/mmeghanmccarthy/status/372926669180264448?lang=en
    IDW Comics are considered as B-canon.

    Sunset's redemption is DURING Rainbow Rocks.
    Reformation is after being blasted by rainbow beam.

  • Ryan Kruleski - 7 years ago

    Starlight Glimmer should win this! :D /)

  • Ryan Kruleski - 7 years ago

    You should only have it be ponies of the canon show. WE already know Sombra's and Sunset Shimmer aren't canon.

  • sapphire475gs - 7 years ago

    Sunset Shimmer: Turned into raging she-demon in a bid for power. Shown what TRUE power is and is remorseful. Sincerely puts effort into obtaining this power. Takes lead against future anti-friendship efforts and by far becomes the most BALANCED character in the entire franchise who fights for friendship in spite of her past deeds. Has wings! Is bacon! Is therefore a pig that flies! (MY VOTE)

    Starlight Glimmer: Shown how her actions will lead to devestation and realizes her folly. Takes friendship lessons, and works through it all in spite of her past deeds, though she struggles with her guilt more. Graduates. Saves Equestria with a team almost entirely made out of ex-baddies. Is Maud's newest friend! Likes kites!

    Discord: Got friendshipped with best pony, Fluttershy. Shown what it means to be treated as a friend. Still kind of a jerk, though. Got roasted mad hard by Maud, once! Is now "the most basic of jokes"!

    Luna: Apparently influenced by a moon presence (Bloodborne, baby!). Successfully exorcised after 1000 years dungeon... on the mooooooooon! BIIIIIYYAAAACH! Through comic and show, has had baggage to clean up along the way that she ultimately is the one to resolve herself. Best colors. Generally default pick of any poll on EQD. I'm ACTUALLY surprised she's not winning just because she's Luna!

    Diamond Tiara: Little bitch who probably should never have been given a chance, but the CMC are little saints. Oppressed by her mother all this time, she was extended an inch of friendship and ultimately takes it an extra mile, using her psychopathic manipulation powers for good. Now we don't have to hate her anymore. Damn it!

    Trixie: After a really strong attempt at payback, she actually called herself something besides great and powerful. Trips adorably while ninja-smokeballing her way out of Ponyville. Kinda still not hot about Twilight. Might be hot in a different way about Starlight. Sethisto will never shut up about her!

    Sombra: I didn't read that far into the comic yet. Crystals! Gak!

    Gilda: Did NOT choose a priceless relic that would have given her people a sense of superiority again over her friend's life (oh, and also the pink one, I guess). Was told to use baking powder. Her potential acquaintance said that her scones were "good". IMMENSE PROGRESS!

  • Hakirayleigh - 7 years ago

    Best villain: Starlight Glimmer.
    Best redemption: Sunset Shimmer:
    Best character: Depends, If you believes the achieve a good attitude with only"friendship" is the most powerful stuff, Sunset is the best.
    If you believe a character may be flaws during several years, like the real life, Starlight is the is the "most" human pony with Applejack until now.

  • Midnight Cookie - 7 years ago

    I refuse to watch or have anything to do with Equestria Girls or really anything other than the TV show, so I don't give a flippity floop about Sunset Shimmer. Since I don't acknowledge her or the film's existence, I can say I am happy to see that Starlight Glimmer is in the lead.

  • Acnestes - 7 years ago

    I have zero to do with Equestria Girls so I won't address Sunset Shimmer.

    That said, I have to give my vote to Starlight Glimmer if only because she's by far the most developed character and we've actually watched her grow.

    I love Trixie, but she hasn't actually reformed or been redeemed at all as much as just dialed her act down a bit. (She gets a pass on her Alicorn Amulet behavior since it wasn't her fault).

    I would like to see the further adventures of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon!

  • Strike Parchment - 7 years ago

    Sunset had the best redemption because she had to work for it, and it felt believable. People who say it was a single rainbow beam didn't get the nuances. Her plan backfired. She didn't plan on being a she-demon, it overwhelmed her. She wanted to take over Equestria, yeah, but she had a line she didn't cross and the moment she put on that crown she crossed it (she was going to outright kill Twilight).

    With that said, I think people are confusing best redemption to favourite character. Especially with Starlight. She's not a bad character, but her redemption was rushed (not as bad as Diamond Tiara or Juniper Montage), but it was rushed. If feels like they tried to emulate Sunset's arc of working for her redemption, but everyone accepted her, except for the mane 6 and Spike who constantly brought it up and even then it was mainly Twilight and Spike, which made it weird and jarring. For Sunset everyone hated her, with the mane 5 plus Princess Twilight and Spike giving her a chance (note: NOT forgiving her yet) as even though they let her hang out with them she was always at an arm's length. That's what made it great.

    Starlight we had "stop bringing it up!" while everyone treated her like a friend... Yeah, it wasn't a great redemption. I think Discord's was better, the constant distrust was great, plus how he went the Vegeta school of redemption where he doesn't outright go good guy, but more of a compromise between his villainous nature and not going overboard to lose his friends or harm them.

  • Ganondox - 7 years ago

    Sunset Shimmer in the lead??!! Hers was the absolute worst, she just got hit with a rainbow beam, which Luna already called. Man Equestria Girl fans suck.

  • OneOverTwo - 7 years ago

    I'll be honest, I voted for Gilda because I felt that her "reformation" felt the most natural out of them all.

  • Solon - 7 years ago

    These people think Twicorn was a bad idea but also think that Starlight is a well written character. *sigh* At least Sunset's winning. She didn't have the best characterization in the first movie but her growth throughout Rainbow Rocks was incredible. She actually had to work to gain everyone's trust instead of just having a cute face. When the humane 5 make an appropriate comment about Sunset's past they're justified but when spike does it to Starlight apparently he said something wrong and needs to be punished. Also, why isn't Sombra much higher?

  • Lotto - 7 years ago

    Oh wow Sunset has the lead?! I was able to resist, but has the Brony changing of the guard ever been more case and point?

  • Vathý Skotádi - 7 years ago

    Sunset shimmer is winning.
    her redemption was literally just a rainbow beam of death.

    Fuck off bronies.

  • Katy - 7 years ago

    I've voted for Tiara.
    But i like Glimmer reformation too. Don't be mean, people, stop insulting people who likes her.

  • pony - 7 years ago

    god fucking dammit
    fucking elitists here piss me of
    stop calling people who voted for starlight idiots or sheep or blind fanboys because they have a different opinion than you
    jesus

  • Surferior - 7 years ago

    I think people are mixing up the words redemption and reformation. I agree that Starlight's reformation was bad, but the episodes after that that shows her redemption was very good. That's why she got so many votes. This is a poll about redemption not reformation.

  • WrongWayPegasus - 7 years ago

    Chrysalis had the best redemption! Why is she not on the list?

  • Joshua Moudy - 7 years ago

    So, Starlight Glimmer came in second place here. I can understand that.

  • Hipha - 7 years ago

    Starlight Glimmer is second? Looks like this fandom enjoys poor writing.

  • HalflingPony - 7 years ago

    Sunset comes close, but I'm going to have to give it to Discord.
    Why? Because unlike nearly every other redemption that was done in 22 minutes or less, they actually spread Discord's redemption over one and a half seasons. The initial "redemption" by Fluttershy was weak and rushed, no doubt about it. But the writers were smart enough to realize that and used his every appearance in season 4 driving home the point that Discord was one bad day away from trying to take over Equestria again.
    Then that day actually *came* and it was a truly beautiful moment of heart-wrenching betrayal, followed by a sincere and touching redemption.

  • Golden Leafs - 7 years ago

    Sunset Shimmer: Student of Celestia gone bad. Enters another dimension and proceeds to take control of school with dreams of domination in the future as well. Steals the element of Magic to use in said plans. Defeats Twilight and friends and changes into evil version of herself. Hit with friendship ray and told to be friends. Next movie surrounds her redemption as she embodies all the elements and helps defeat the sirens. School and people forgive her due to her helping them. REDEEMED.

    Diamond Tiara: Horrible bully slowly realizes she doesn't want to be her mother... REDEEMED.

    Starlight Glimmer: OP Unicorn steals every cutie mark in a town and has future plans to do so to all of Equestria. Almost destroys all of existence and is shown that it will happen if she doesn't stop. Said motivation for everything she did is that her friend left her alone 'because' of his cutie mark... Made Twilight's pupil and is being taught friendship. Redemption still going.

    Discord: Godlike creature that controls chaotic powers menaces Equestria for years. Has never had a friend and one appears and black mails him into friendship. He realizes he would rather have one than none... Sorta redeemed? Still a jerk and f's up.

    Luna: Becomes jealous of her sisters popularity and the unappreciative ponies not liking her night and moon. Allows a demon like spirit to take over her body and try to take over Equestria. Sister banish's her for a 1,000 years to be imprisoned in the moon. A beam of friendship changes her back to Luna, Celestia appears and says lets forgive and forget. She forgives her sister... REDEEMED.

    Gilda: Bratty old friend of Rainbow Dash shows up and proceeds to ruin everything. Is later asked to help fix her kingdoms problems by using friendship and realizes she cares more about Dash than anything else. REDEEMED.

    Trixie: Show boat who gets jealous of Twilight and vows revenge. Shows up and enslaves the town of Ponyville after beating Twilight in a magic duel using an ancient artifact. Is beaten through trickery and attempts to apologize for her behavior since the artifact had clouded her mind. Befriends fellow 'former' villain Starlight Glimmer during a visit to Ponyville for a redemption tour. Ends up almost screwing it up but pulls through in the end. Helps save all of Equestria from the Changelings along with 'former' villains. REDEEMED. Still a little rotten.

    Sombra: Is told he is a monster. Acts out as a monster and uses a former friend to free 'his fellow monsters' from a dimension they were trapped in. When he realizes they will hurt everything he actually cares for he sends them back to the dimension but in doing so, sends himself as well. Before it happens all the princesses use their magic to remove his 'monstrous' side and he leaves with his friend to find the pieces of the Crystal Kingdoms matriarch. REDEEMED.

    I chose Sunset Shimmer cause she worked for her redemption and wasn't given it easily.

  • Dogman15 - 7 years ago

    Luna herself was never a villain to begin with. It was Nightmare Moon that got purged/reformed.

  • J47fly - 7 years ago

    Diamond Diara is BEST redemption. It includes a song and has potential!

  • umahunter - 7 years ago

    @OneOverTwo if Starlight's redemption arc ended with season 5 finale, I'd agree with you but I really liked her redemption stories in season 6 and season 7(yes, her redemption arc is still on going)

  • Shinjojin - 7 years ago

    Hold on! While I do agree that Sunset has the best redemption, do people really think Starlight's redemption was better than Luna's?

    I call BULLSH*T!! >:(

  • Wulf - 7 years ago

    @OneOverTwo You took the words out of my mouth. Not speaking of character, Starlight and Sunset have arguably the most ridiculous, pathetic, and sorry excuses for redemption of any of the characters. Am I sorry that they were redeemed? HECK NO.

    That aside, I chose the Discord redemption because that one part in "Keep Calm and Flutter On" where Discord gained the upper hand and could have effortlessly pursued dictatorship (or whatever the heck he wanted) but simply decided that losing the only friend he ever had couldn't match all the power in the universe.

  • Sugar Loop - 7 years ago

    Arguably Sunset Shimmer had the worst redemption, but I see Sunset Shimmer, I vote for Sunset Shimmer.

  • OneOverTwo - 7 years ago

    I think a lot of voters are confusing "Best Redemption" for "Favorite Character on This List".

    I don't really see how Starlight Glimmer could've gotten so many votes otherwise...
