Fun Fact: I have discovered that Sunset Shimmer must have been inspired by the Final Fantasy character named Golbez. In fact, they both suffered the same fate and redeemed themselves in their respective sequels. Sunset Shimmer had suffered just about the same problems as Golbez but she regained her confidence after being motivated by friendship transforming into an anti-heroine whereas Golbez had very little experience about friendship after being F-ed up by Zemus for so long and that's why he's still an anti-hero even in The After Years.

I would want to be in present day Equestria, with the ponies we know and love! Just being in Equestria is great!
Other - The current time in the show! Mane 6 as they are now. The era of Princess Twilight spreading friendship across the kingdom and beyond sounds like a good time to live in.

I'd say the future, as I'd like to see what it would be like, and see what they'd be doing currently with their lives. I'm sure by then the Mane Six would probably be in their mid 30s or 40s or something and hopefully happily married and such.
Interestingly I'm thinking of doing some kinda fanfiction (though it's an MLP version of Saint Seiya pretty much, LOL) and I think I'll use that in my story, where it takes place after the events of FiM.

I actually left these comments where Sethisto asked the questeions when introducing this poll in the post on the LAST poll! Anyway. . .
1) I don't know. . . in the Real World, visiting the past always seems to me like sucker bait. Ooh, it would be cool to meet King Arthur, but oh yeah, there's no novocaine and a better than even even shot that a paper cut will get infected and kill you. And we do know that ponies get sick, with particularly in the Paleopony Period. The future is a better bet!
2) What could be interesting is the FAR future, when Princess Twilight (and Princesses Flurryheart and maybe Starlight by then?) are as old as Celestia and Luna are now!

Where's present day Equestria? Or even Celestia's thousand year rule of peace? Most of these time periods seem rather tumultuous. While I would love to see these explored in an episode, I'd rather not personally visit them.
