I switched to Win10m. Can't wait to ditch this poor, unreliable, slow and underdeveloped OS. MS is just on wrong way and I will not follow this road anymore.

I have been a windows user since mobile 5.0 so a very long time. And in that time I have seen MS come out the gate with stuff first but no one ever knows about it. They have always had a terrible marketing strategy when it comes to mobile.if it wasn't because I was the head of the IT department for the company I worked for for over 16 years, they would have go e iPhone if I hadn't made the company go windows mobile through out the blackberry years. Still now its 2017 those of us that loved windows phone 7 and let's face it integrated OS that was the best, but since then the knee jerk reaction to be more like android is destroying the whole reason we use windows phones, to get shit done. My hp elite x3 has to be hands down the best hardware since my Nokia Lumia 1520 aside from the camera, and yet MS is yet again going to leave users like me that dropped $800 on a fucking phone lurching in the dark when they cut us loose with their reported new cshell update. It's things like this that make people leave and never come back. And this time around if they do it, I think ill be another statistic.

I moved from the L640 XL to 950 XL, great OS, the never tiring Windows hello and what not, I do have a small Samsung Galaxy tab to compensate the apps, I don't have the continuum dock...
    Yet.

Still on WM10 on my L950. I have a 2nd phone Samsung G S6, but the daily driver is the L950. I also have a MS Surface 3 and I value the seamless integration. MS should invest in apps because that's where the difference is with Android. I hope they keep pushing their mobile OS.

i think windows 10 is super involving. I first used 8.1 on Lumia 535 upgraded to windows 10 but initially it was too buggy. then I brought android but started missing windows 10. then I bought 730 upgraded it to windows 10 this time I fall in love with phone & OS. so I upgraded to 950 and I can easily say that its best phone ever used. outstanding camera, super hardware. but app gap is really disappointing. coz I tried using webpages instead of apps but then what's the use of live tiles if all is supposed to b done on edge browser.i think we windows phone lovers will be in deep trouble I Microsoft not introduces new phone really quick. we will be forced to use android & ios

and yes, im aware of the 40mp 1020... in regards to optics, the new Zeiss optics in the Lumia 950xl is superior to the Lumia 1020. Imagine if it was 40mp as well!

Moved onto Windows 10m and will continue to use Windows mobile for ever. The evolution of the PC is upon us which is a computer-in-your-pocket: YOU CANT GET MORE PERSONAL COMPUTER THAN THAT...
Our use of the Windows OS helps Microsoft develop the programming and software necessary to make that evolution possible.
BTW any Windows fans out there with PROFESSIONAL QUALITY smartphone cameras like the 950xl, post your BEST picture on Twitter and use #shotonwindows as a counter to #shotohiphone campaign. The 950xl has been touted as the "best smartphone camera of all time" i guess until just recently with the i8 coming out and the new Galaxies which STILL have hardware below 950 spec on some models... (oh and post what device you are using - 1020, 950, X3 Elite, etc... only 12mp and up) &pass it on.

I moved to Android after using windows 10 for 1½ year. Windows needs better OEM and improvements in OS, but still I feel windows is better than Android in some aspects.

I moved to win10 on the Lumia 950XL in December 2016. (from L920).
And then in September 2016 needed a Android smartphone to, because of apps I really needed to use on a daily basis. (S7e w/o sim)
Today still using both OS's constantly.

From 8.1 to cyan to w10m on 4 devices. L521 (A temporary that ended up impressing for its price and made me sick to Nokia), L830 the overall best device running windows even with it's short comings but gorgeous camera and hi end audio, L640 decently priced with decent specs, L950xl sadly unstable but still killer camera and Hi end specs.

In spite of many things still adhere to Windows, now using WP10. Guys, keep on moving ahead, there is quite a number of people ( incl. Russia) that love what you are doing!

I could see a move from vista coming to keep up with microsoft. It proved right, moving from my 98 desktop to phone took adjyst ment.Initally I needed big tiles, navigation was dificult. But now I need smaller tiles, the apps work well,i'm more experienced. The upcoming software changes cshell and fluent design sound ground breaking.performance and stability, the quickness of programs to blink open on vista are still to be out done.

I love Windows 10! reason(s): Security, UWP framework, support support support, clean design (I hate bloat and bugs), quality apps. Thanks Microsoft.

I don't like the MICROSOFT & WINDOWS 10 MOBILE. I love the ***NOKIA*** . Nokia was the quality company that gave powerful hardware but microsoft is like waste of money, i.e. Only a single lower led flash for a lumia 640 xl that have 13 MP camera and also the camera have redness and not so clear then the nokia's camera. windows phone is still a GREAT OS that will never dead for me. It is so fast then your 10. Shame on you MICROSOFT. You MURDERED the NOKIA. you will never up in PHONE BUSINESS.

I bought a Lumia 640 XL back at new years 2016, used it on 8.1 until March 2016, then upgraded to 10. I then upgraded to a 950 XL on 10 June 2017. I can't really see myself getting an Android or an iPhone anytime soon. Like my 950 XL despite some glitches and bugs.

  • Dan Ilie - 7 years ago

From L520 jump to L640...isn't a powerful device but for me is ok.
It happens sometimes to crush...on Camera or Photo app...and WhatsApp have an annoying "resume" style....but for me are not very big problems.
    Now I'm on 15063....not anymore a "insider"....

Current W10M UI with Live Tile is a Strong Window mobile USP.

Have android and iOS for development to address any app gaps. 950XL is the main phone for pretty much everything, except programming on laptop.

With coming WoA & Cshell & a powerful Win64 ARM Snapdragon 835 (Q4 2017; SD 845 is expected to have Geekbench4 Single Core that matches that of i7 4700), I can imagine it will address many short comings of current W10M on 950XL.

Also. W10M only support UWP ARM 32bit.

With WoA 64bit, possible to program either in UWP ARM 64bit, UWP x86, Xamarin for WPF (x86), WPF, winForm, Literally it is a mobile-like full W10 PC.

Hope Microsoft continue intensively CShell, so it can support a wide variety of mobile-like form factors: Foldable into 2 or 3 screens, elongated screen (e.g. 4000 x 1000) so it is possible to watch video on left side while browsing in the middle while taking note with One Note on the right side. Imagine using this screen for mobile game. It has to be head turner.

The more variety Microsoft pioneering different mobile-like form factors (by democratising form factors to OEM through inventive CShell), more developers will come to WoA (fun, no limit to imagination with UI), the faster the app gaps will be addressed.

There are still Risks: Developing UWP for ARM has many short comings compared to UWP x86. There ate still many libraries and templates missing for UWP apps development that discourage developers new to UWP.

For developers from Android and iOS, who are used to OpenGL, the Angle.Windowstore UWP templates come only for C++, no C#. Limiting c# programmers from Unity, Xamarin native android and iOS to create XAML UWP apps.

Recommendations: Create a high priority Feedback Hub or a dedicated app just to collect all feedbacks related to UWP Arm to ensure a smooth release of WinOnARM.

Please give developers up to date the release of VS2017 that support Win ARM x64'bit. When UWP, both ARM and 86/64 will support .NET standard 2.0 using channel 9 etc.

Difficult poll to complete, because I first moved to Windows 10 Mobile from Windows Phone 8.1 and then finally moved to Android about a year later (gave it a shot but the app gap finally was too much to overcome).

I answered the survey as "Android", because that is the current end result

Using my L950 as my daily and only driver. I love the OS but Microsoft's indifference to users of it's own OS and focus on competitors OS has been pissing me off to a point where i cant take it. Hey Cortana never responds. Maps for Pakistan are missing when they are available for Yemen. We are the only new not to have received the brand new LinkedIn and Skype apps, forget UWP. Microsoft and Nadella really need to sort their shit out. People have been adopting Surface line because windows as an OS already is in use. That policy won't work for Mobile. What they did with HP Elite x3 users is criminal and unforgivable.

  • Páraic Marren - 7 years ago

I find it frustrating and myopic that the mobile OS that I was a delighted to discover is about to be discarded, having been brought so far in development and style.

  • Panos Mirmigkis - 7 years ago

I bought my L640 in order to be Windows 10 on every device. But that was my biggest mistake. Laggy keyboard, crashes, loading, resuming all of that stuff makes the phone most of the time unusable. And now I'm stuck here because I have no money to buy something else...

  • igor - 7 years ago

I'm very happy with Windows 10 Mobile and I hope Microsoft won't put it in maintenance mode. Windows Mobile has future, and the reimagined one, probably with Windows 10 S on ARM and Continuum on top of that. Can't wait the new member of Surface family see the light.

  • Jan Tiedemann - 7 years ago

I'm also trying Android 7.1.2 but productivity wise I still like to use my Windows 10 Mobile 950xl device. My second device aka Android is only to fill the app gap.

  • Jeff Lee - 7 years ago

I use Windows 10 on my laptop for work all day. I use Windows 10 phone as I love the interface. So far superior to iOS or Android.
