At times it is OK but at weekends and in the evening when we would like to watch Netflix ,Clarovideo or HBO it keeps freezing up and spoiling our watching experience. I have enquired from Telmex as to why it is so slow and have offered to pay for an enhanced service that is advertised widely but it seems that it is not available due to the lack of fibre optic cable in our area. As we live in the Centro area of La Paz I find it difficult to understand why this is so. Surely an area that is full of businesses and hotels should have access to the best service available.?

We get a whopping 2 mbps, from Telnor - Mexico's high tech phone company. DISGUSTING

Telmex's system is the best of a bad bunch and cable and satellite TV is dismal. I have Telmex's Infinitum and every 30 minutes I need to shut down and restart to get the service back. Why? Carlos Slim owns it and is worth more than a dozen fortunes yet his equipment and service is shoddy. Why?

Here in Cardel, VER, we have the choice of Telmex DSL or MegaCable. Both advertise 12 Mbps, but I typically saw 9Mbps on both when I used a speed-check app. The real issue is availability. After running with both for a year I opted to continue Telmex because Megacable was not dependable (and their customer service relied on "it must be your fault" response every time we had an issue).
Wifi is fast at Cafe Maya, Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca.

It's not only slow speeds, but can you connect at all. It took me three attempts to have my connection last long enough to cast this vote. I hope it lasts long enough for me to submit it.

I have Kenton, its a little slow in the evenings and on weekends but for me it works OK. It goes off sometimes but usually no more then a couple hours or so.

Some areas are VERY good - they have Fiber available via TotalPlay or Telmex. In those areas, it is often faster than what is available in the US. Overall though, it averages out to good.
