After Sheriff Clinton’s September comments, how do you feel about the eradication of of confederate monuments?
It concerns me that we ignore history and tear down these monuments. Sheriff Clinton is right, teaching about the past is how we move forward. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
It’s not a big deal. Though history is important, we shouldn’t romanticize the past with monuments to honor and glorify those times. Keep looking forward, not back.
It is most definitely an issue, these statues are of men from what almost became a different country. Tear every one of them down, we don’t need the constant reminder of such a black time in history.
I can’t really say I’ve paid attention, the issue seems unrelated to what’s important in my mind.
