More and more drug busts seem to be occurring lately, can we as citizens do more to fight this?
Not really, drug users and dealers have little care for more than what they can feel through their high. As citizens, we can only rely on our Police Officers and Task Forces to handle the problem.
I think many citizens don’t want to be involved. This creates an environment that makes fighting drugs harder. People know who and where the drugs are in our county, but they won’t step forward because they either know someone involved or just don’t want to deal with the very real problem.
Drug laws are too lax, let’s reform for harsher sentencing so that these dealers and addicts don’t get back onto our streets after they’re arrested. Police are just spinning their wheels in this vicious cycle.
It’s really a reform issue, if we had more youth prevention and accountability programs, then once people got through a forced break with the drugs or voluntary rehab, it’d be easier to keep people from using.
