It is the responsibility of all users to protect themselves, however the commercial users have a responsibility also to protect themselves and their customers. The internet providers and social network companies have a greater responsibility to ensure that their users are protected. Lets be honest about this the providers of internet services are the experts and the user is unlikely to have the skills needed. Even the providers of security are usually playing catch up.

It is my responsibility to look after what I can. Sadly the breaches I have had are all down to lax security on commercial sites. It is the responsibility of all users to keep data sagfe, be it their own or than of their customers.
