Should the state raise the excise tax paid on beer, wine and spirits?

    And let us not forget the undeserved pay raise that the (LEGISLATORS) jackals voted for themselves this year. Somebody has to pay for that !!! Just try giving yourself a pay raise at work without the approval of the boss. Good luck in your next job down the road.

    I still don't understand why, when stated you need to have a government id to purchase alcohol, it can't be from out of state. Promote tourism but don't let them buy alcohol for their visit. STUPID.

    It would have been helpful to know how much the tax is now, both as a % and compared to other States. My vote, though, is really based on the assumption that taxes in MA are already sufficient given excise taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, property taxes, ??? If taxes are to be raised, our reps had better make a case that can be supported based on something other than that they are spending beyond our means and need to make up the difference. Btw, beer = 11 cents/gallon (44th in USA), wine = 55 cpg rank 32, and liquor = $4.05 per gallon, rank 34.
