Do you think Indiana schools should be required to teach cursive writing to students?

Cursive is archaic, and the time it would take to teach kids a writing style they will never use would be better spent teaching something practical.

That reminds me of my Junior year typing class(1954); "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs back" and "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country".
    I managed 38 correct words a minute. I didn't become a secretary!

I certainly would hate to go through life not being able to write. Printing everything in my view would be a goodly loss of time.

Is cursive part of a well-rounded education? Absolutely. Is it an essential skill in today's world? It is becoming less so. The reality for educators, who are evaluated in large part by standardized test scores, is that test content necessarily becomes priority. There simply is not enough time nor resources to accomplish mastery of everything that everyone deems important.

This should not even be a question. OF COURSE it should be taught. Educational system has been neglected for TOO long. Thank to politicians and administrators. Let teachers do what they do best; TEACH. THEY KNOW, you do not.
