Will Tennessee expand legalized medical marijuana this year?

Tennessee will probably be the last state in the nation to allow its citizens the right to privacy & doctors to dispense to patients what they want instead of something the drug companies make $$$ from at our expense. as long as there is a pill someone makes money from (regardless of the horrible side effects) they will try to force you to buy those pills. they squall about "proven efficiency", but no drug works for everyone, not even narcotics. some pain (like peripheral neuropathy from diabetes) is relatively resistant to opiates. yet, that was one of the ailments that medical cannabis was primarily prescribed for before our all-knowing govt decided it knew more than the medical professionals. one of our state "leaders" (LOL!) recently said "how many people would want medical cannabis if they did not get high? " it becomes rather obvious that to some people, enjoying not being in pain & having a higher quality of life is a bad thing. go figure...and these morons are PROUD that they keep folks in pain. i guess they think that "suffering builds character, and we want you to be FULL of character..."

The ignorance is astounding. People relate marijuana to lazy video game people who eat tide pods. Michael Phelps is one of the most decorated America Olympic athletes in history, not to mention Arnold Schwarzenegger used marijuana.

  • Nopetodope - 6 years ago

Shaun eat your tide pods and get on that bus . I’ll be the guy that pulls your high ass out of the ditch. Nashville is liberal . No doubt Davidson , Knox and Shelby county will have tons of yes votes but look at the rest of the state. If it’s voted on state wide , it’ll never pass .

  • Patty kyle - 6 years ago

It should be left to the people of tn to vote on it,not left to the government to tell us this is not good for us,that is there opin, let the people of tn voice there opln

@nope2dope I have a question for you. Do you drink beer or believe it should be illegal to drink beer? I can not stand when people speak about this generation as something “bad”. Back in the twenties you had Al Capone running the streets killing people. You had in the early eighties the big cocaine wars in Miami. You have had cult leaders in David Koresh in the early nineties. Jump back to 69’ you had Marilyn Manson’s “children” running around pulling babies out of celebrities. People like you act like shit hasnt happened forever and this new generation is the reason for the demise of America when you imply shit like that. I believe it is the hypocrisy from the mainly older generation that is to blame. You want to do what you want to do as long as you enjoy it, its ok. What is the big deal about Marijuana? Not expecting a reaponse, but I had to put this in the universe. Ill take a Tide Pod anyday over the psychotic teachings of a false prophet. Freedom means allowing others to do things that sometimes everyone dont like. C’mon Grandpa get on the bus or get left behind. Your choice.

  • Nopetodope - 6 years ago

yes votes are mostly coming from the generation that eats tide pods , live off the system and play video games for a living in... it’s a sad world anymore. That’s all these communities need is to add to there reason not to work and lay around high .

Howard, I think you may need to see a doctor or visit a computer repair shop. You’ve either had a stroke, your keyboard is stuck in Caps, or you’ve had a stroke with a broken keyboard. Either way, shut the hell up with your incoherent, unintelligent, psychopathic rambling.

We wish that they would. But this is Tennessee. Too many corrupt republitards. It will never happen in Tennessee. This is not the volunteer state. ..this is the too stupid to tell the government NO state.

HELL NO IT WONT BE LEGALISED. NOT NOW OR NEVER. PRESIDENT TRUMP AND MY MAN JEFF SESSIONS DONE SAID IT WAS A SIN. IT MAKES MEN INTO CRIMINALS, RAPERS, MURDERERS, LOOK AT THE STATISTICS FOR GODS BLESSED BE HIS NAME SAKE. LOOK I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS HERE, THAT GREEN PLANT MARYJUANA IS REPRESENTED BY A HORSE, GOOD HEALTH IS REPRESENTED BY A DOG, A HORSE CAN OUT RUN THE DOG USUALLY ALL THE TIME, EXCEPT IF HE AINT WORKIN RIGHT. YOURE BRAIN AINT WORKIN RIGHT HIGH. THE HORSE SLOWS DOWN AND ALLOWS YOUR HEALTH TO FADE BECAUSE THE GOOD HEALTH BEING REPRESENTED BY THE DOG PASSES THE HORSE AT THAT POINT AND EVERYTHING IS NONBALANCED. ITS LIKE A WELL OILED MACHINE LIKE A DIESEL IF IT AINT FIRING RIGHT THINGS ARE NOT WORKIN RIGHT AND BAM LIKE THAT. KEEP TENNESSEE SAFE AND KEEP US WORKIN!

Megan Barry sat on my rainbow and skittles came out.

And, you guys paid me overtime. I LOVE METRO!

  • CorruptPoliticians - 6 years ago

Lets look at how politics work. We had Roll your Own cigarette stores open in Middle Tenn. Walk in, buy 8 ounces tobacco, carton of papers and employees put them in machine and out came rolled cigarettes for about $1.50 a pack. Politicians complained and passed new regulations because cig industry said it was losing business.

Then comes Ben Nelson, Senator from Nebraska, who passed Federal law banning these stores because they were regulated liked he wanted. Result the Roll Your Own store went out of Business. The man who owned several of these stores filed bankruptcy.

Want to know how many Roll Your Own stores in Nebraska? ZERO, that's right not a damned store in his state but he got them banned everywhere. Want to see his financials? Shortly after law was passed Comrade Nelson received over $100 THOUSAND DOLLAR donation from tobacco lobbyists.

It is not about the marijuana, it is about self serving snake in the grass politicians. KICK THEM ALL OUT!!!

I heard Megan Barry accidently sat on her IPhone and when she stood up it was an I pad.Vanderbilt did poll showing she is still loved by the majority. Isn't that where her hubby (Larry of the 3 stooges) works?

  • JoSixPak - 6 years ago

Legalize it and Metro should tax it to pay for the enhanced pension that Megan Barry earned for her boitoi.

This mayor is even crazier than Bill Boner.

  • JoSixPak - 6 years ago

Vanderbilt's "poll" about Megan Boner is LAUGHABLE fake news. The sample was skewed and the questions were leading. Vanderbilt is a far-left political university, so this is no surprise.

I know very few people—even democrats—who still support this corrupt and crazy mayor. RESIGN NOW!!!!

  • Legalize the Ganja - 6 years ago

Marijuana laws are insane. Wasting resources from police, to jail cells, to courts with these laws. Hey, maybe that is why that don't want to legalize it. Oh well, back to destroying my liver with Jack Daniels. Hey I imagine the liquor industry opposes this also. Wonder how much those politicians get from lobbyists keeping us in the backwoods?

As to Megan Barry, they said she sat on a $1 bill and it squeezed a booger out of George Washington's nose.

  • Lazy Fat Cop - 6 years ago

Nooo I must lock up all the stoners !

  • ItWontPass - 6 years ago

Of course they wont pass it.

They need to pass a law that drop your drawers Megan must stop at all truck scales on the interstate. Anyone with a rump that large should be required to have a license plate.

Want a tax break or subsidy in Nashville? Get a paper sack and head to Motel 6, the mayor will be waiting.

  • Bridget - 6 years ago

They won't legalize it. There are too many older people in office and the fact that Tennessee is in the Bible belt that will keep that from happening. I'm betting if Tennessee does legalize it in any way, shape or form, we will be the very last state to do it.

No they won’t approve it. However, they will let the mayor pay her security 100k in OT while she’s getting tapped in the back of a cemetery. See the logic here...

For the people that are sick with real diseases this helps tremendously and a lot of us DO NOT want to use the medications for pain etc that the physicians give us look at the opioid epidemic, however they know we need them. This would eliminate all of those and it is much better all around! IT HELPS US IN NEED and makes most of us able to function daily and not be a pill zombie! People need to research and open their minds! Or maybe they should just get sick with an illness and see what we people live with everyday and see the difference between taking dangerous pills etc that "are legal" compared to micro dosing , or a little marijuana HUGE DIFFERENCE on being able to function daily in society!

  • Marshall Moffett - 6 years ago

They should make it legal but they won’t. When does government of TN ever do anything correctly
