Poll: Should pregnant firefighters be granted a light-duty option?

This Bill Donnelly sounds a real smart person! I myself working EMS/Fire see countless males and females getting put on light duty for way less, why because we take care of our own so at the end of the day we all are mentally and physically able to continue to respond to calls and put our lives on the line for many years. You are so simple minded, If one of my fellow brothers simply got any kind of small injury, at work or not I would rather him be able to do some office work for a little bit and return to full duty when he’s no longer injured than him having to risk causing more injury and potentially making it worse to the point he can no longer do the job and is forced into disability or retirement. Which by the way is more of a disservice to the community and taxpayers because it’s one less experienced and well trained person serving them. The same goes for my fellow sisters who are pregnant! It’s not a free handout as you backwoods simple minded people seem to think. They still are showing up to work and performing things that must get done. I would love for Bill Donnelly to have to call 911 and a injured/pregnant firefighter respond who due to such limitations was forced to continue full active duty. I’m sure you still will want them to risk it all to get you out of a burning building, cut you out of a car your entrapped in, or perform cpr on you if you go down. I’m sure when your in any of those situations you will still feel the same way! Get off your high horse!

It is disappointing that this is even an issue. Light duty does not mean sitting around eating bon bons.....these women can still perform important and necessary tasks. I support women fire fighters/ first responders. I guess a man with a 20 lb hernia can still perform ALL of the necessary and required daily tasks. Would love to see that!

next it will be transgender considerations, she knew the job requirements when she took the job, bad enough fire departments have to make housing adjustments.
