Cooks is a problem in the locker room? LOL. Who's the source of that fake news?

Cooks provides a nice downfield threat, and will make some big plays, but he's too one dimensional for what the Patriots like to do. Cooks doesn't make tacklers miss in space, like Edelman, Amendola, or even Mitchell, and that's why he became expendable (along with having only 1 year remaining on his contract). It would not surprise me if Belichick moves up a little in the first round if his target QB drops some, but I don't see him giving up both first round picks to move into the top ten... there are too many good QBs in this draft to have to do that, and the Pats have too many holes to fill.

It's not that the Patriots are cheapskates, it's that they manage the cap as well as anybody (and that Brady has been willing to work below street value for years). Cooks was fine, albeit not great, last year; but not worth TO THE PATRIOTS what he would demand after next year. Trading him now got value; losing him next year would not. It was an excellent deal for the Patriots; it might be good for the Rams as well, judging who "won" the deal is kind of stupid.

Your all idiots cooks was traded by saints for cap purposes and belicheck loved this guy. It's just that bill wants a particular qb in the draft and needs more picks. Plus next year is a contract year and the pats are cheap skates. Those who think pats clearly won trade don't know shit about football and the business of football.
