Should the University of Alberta grant David Suzuki an honorary degree?

He is a hypocrite. Tells us we are overpopulating the planet but has 5 children. Owns three homes and flies to all his speaking engagements. Look more closely at his lifestyle and you will see there is nothing whatsoever environmentally friendly about this man. It is do as I say and not as I do with David Suzuki. He should be ashamed of his offensive rhetoric when he abuses the environment. He doesn't even drive an environmentally friendly car.

I grew up in Alberta watching David Suzuki who was and still is one of the most brilliant and respected minds around until he spoke out against the dirtiest oil on the planet from the tar sands and then Alberta turned on him. I understand oil provides income for a lot of families, but having a healthy planet for our children and grand children is also important. I am a proud Albertan who wishes there were more David Suzuki's in the world. There are many Albertans like me who feel the same way.

Why would Alberta award this destroyer anything but the door.

why would we want to reward BAD behaviour? He is Canada's most infamous hypocrite. Why reward him especially U of A when he is against the oilsands and pipelines. U of A give your head a shake.

Why does he deserve an honorary degree from the UOA or any other institution in this province. He’s against everything a proud Albertan stands for. Who’s next DiCaprio?
