They hit a home run with that 7th rounder, who wound up performing like a 1st rounder. They failed miserably with this trade and the draft in general. They needed pass rushers, especially with that 9th overall pick they could have wound up getting a solid pass rusher (since their o-line situation was not even really a problem). Trent Brown had higher grades than staley on many games according to PFF. and apparantly he was good enough to become the starting OT for the pats.... So the pats got a starting left tackle (a position that usually requires a 1st round pick to acquire) and a 5th round pick in exchange for a 3rd round pick. This was a TERRIBLE deal for the 49ers! John Lynch should resign after all the fuck ups. (Solomon Thomas 3rd overall BUST, this year trading a solid player away just to use a 1st round pick on a player that they didnt need). Ontop of all this he has done nothing to make the team better, he missed out on plenty of trades for players of need such as a Solid WR. Damarius Thomas would have been real nice on the 49ers! As of now their best WR is a #3/backup receiver from Buffalo. And Lynch does nothing to help this. Their Defense is incapable of stopping teams when the game is on the line (twice in the past 3 weeks they were winning just to wind up losing in the last 2 minutes of the game because their D couldnt stop them and this is entirely due to NO PASS RUSH! The opposing QB gets to sit back in the pocket all day and wait til their receiver gets open, everytime! )
Their DC sucks too, but mostly has to do with no pass rushers. u would think that 1st round pick would have been used to address a position of need...
Some theories are that the 49ers owed the Pats from the Garappolo trade. (i say BULLSHIT to that, the trade was set in stone, the pats should have asked for more if the 2nd round wasnt enough... )
I would have graded the 49ers an F for this trade, i dont see how they can get anything more than a failing grade for it.

under that same stupid logic u would say that if a team traded san diego a 7th round pick for Antonio Gates in his prime would mean that the chargers won the trade because they turned an undrafted to a 7th round pick? dumb

So if the Steelers traded Antonio Brown for a 3rd rounder, you'd be praising them for turning a 6th rd pick into a 3rd round pick? The job of a football team isn't to flip picks into better picks.
