This situation is going to be far more complicated than even now. First forget about the army coming in. We have no National Guard, no politician would bring in an army to deal with domestic problems and it would be challenged immediately. Expanding the pipeline will likely have little or no effect on BC gas prices. And if Notley ‘turns off the tap’ then nothing flows out period. Sound business decision. This pipeline is for export ( read Asian) use. After the intital development, job creation provided by KM will be 1000’s less than what Amazon just handed BC. The ‘payment’ BC would also get forsaking this risk and jeopardizing their own industries is so one sided towards Alberta that the deal would have to be sweetened a lot more to make it interesting.
The problem is the appearance of approval of the project by the NEB. Take two minutes to research the NEB. The top executives have spent their career in the oil and gas business, many still holding shares Iin the industry. That’s why Trudeau has admitted it’s a flawed system but he has already put his foot in his mouth and says he will fix the NEB once this is all over. Yes passengers we know there is a major problem with your aircraft, we will fix it after your flight , enjoy your trip!
Yep, this is far from over....
Yes, the pipeline will be built. The Federal Government needs to pass a law and make it in the national interest. Then you bring in the Army to keep the peace and lets get it done. The protesters will be arrested and get a criminal conviction. Now that would be interesting when they try to enter another country. Did I say protesters? I think from reports that I have heard that a lot of them are not Canadians. The Border Security would have a field day checking to see if they had the proper paperwork to work in Canada.
Now that we are on the subject of shipping Bitumen, is it any worse than the City of Victoria pumping millions of gallons of raw sewage into the Ocean????????

Bitumen if transported is safest when done so in solid form. Anericans use 98% of the Canadian crude. Montana's first nations oppose pipelines hence tankers loaded in Canadian ports for U.S. destinations. America bullying Canada as usual.

It is best for BC & Canada and the environment. Those in favor of immediately discontinuing oil should stop driving and stop accepting any goods or services delivered by road, rail, air or ship.

Won’t happen ..... place your bets folks ! Amazing the hypocrisy on this issue, the Sheeple that want it slam socialism and communism however they’re all in favour of shipping crude bitumen to communist CHINA so the Chinese government controlled industries can produce more plastic crap including straws and ship the finished crap products back to Canada....

Salal the poll is do you think it will get built , not do you think it should be built. Second , the bitumen is currently being shipped by rail which is far more dangerous than pipelines. If the B.C. Government believes bitumen should be refined here , stop talking about it and do something about it.

If the BC electorate knew the truth, "A world class recovery system for bitumen spills at sea" has not been invented yet....would the poll change direction?
It is good economically for BC and Canada.
