I think it is bad, if you like having your thoughts and mind controlled by the government (the only body able to impose censorship) - well then you are pretty stupid. But that is just my opinion.

I lived in a country where government censorship is the norm. Namely Zimbabwe. I am very glad to have left that behind.
Why anyone would allow someone else to decide what that should and should not see mystifies me.
It doesn't matter how well intentioned it is - I want no-one imposing their moral beliefs on me. Before you jump in and say "but some censorship is needed" think, and you will realize it is not.
All that censorship does is give someone the ability to control your access to information - nothing else.
Nothing compels you to read something you find objectionable. No-one forces you to look. No-one forces you to listen. (At least not in the USA). If it is offensive to you then simply stop looking / reading / whatever.
Oh, and by the way, if someone is forcing you to listen/ look / read it is almost invariably the government to their propaganda.

Come on, prostitution has been around since man appeared on earth and we take it out or blame Craigslist!?!? The site isn't promoting prostitution or murder, people who do this choose to. It's like closing down Williams Sonoma because they sell kitchen knives and some nut killed someone with one! Let's get real and if it is a moral problem you have then teach morality to kids when they are young! Without drama, harsh punishment, just because its right and let people make up their own minds as to how they live their lives!

Craigslist is a convenient target for Attorneys General so they're taking advantage and ganging up on a site and company who has been more than cooperative in the face of our inane politician's groping for votes.
If they were serious about cleaning up prostitution advertising on the web, there are plenty of other sites to go after, not the least of which is the adult section of Backpage, which has been doing it a lot longer than Craigslist and still is.

it was called ADULT services, as in adults, as in people old enough to make their own decisions.
this is NOT a christian country, yet so-called christian morals are repeatedly imposed upon citizens who see the world in a different way. isn't that exactly the kind of thing that the revolutionaries were fighting when this country broke away from the England?
if there were true separation of church and state in this country we'd all be free to live our lives as we see fit, not in accordance with someone else's standards, and polls such as this wouldn't be necessary.

You can *not* legislate morality.
Trying to legislate morality has a few problems:
1) Loud-voiced "moral" lobbyists don't necessarily reflect the majority view.
2) It tends to focus with laser sharpness on a tiny aspect of a situation, neglecting collateral damage (in this case one more hit on the Bill of Rights).
3) It's where people try to think for others. How would you feel if cars were legislated out of existence? If it became illegal to hugs your children in public? How about if it were illegal to even have children? Should anyone else make these sorts of decisions for us?
4) When you punish, the behaviour doesn't stop, it goes underground. Who knows what happens at that point? "Outlaw guns, and the only ones who'll have guns are outlaws." The same thinking applies here.
Also, in this particular case:
5) Morals are different in different places, and so are laws. Make it easy to censor the internet now because of pressure from the US, and later on you'll have to censor it because of pressure from other places. Should the government of Saudi Arabia, or Iran, or China have any say over what's censored in our home towns? I don't think so.
It's dangerous to us all when censorship is the only solution that can be applied to a situation.

The Attorney Generals are being paid of by other media outlets that have sufferred huge losses because of Craigslist. Big media companies have a lot to gain by shutting Craigslist out. These companies have seen their ad revenues dwindle because of Craigslist. They have given campaign cotributions to the Attorney Generals. The Attorney Generals are returning the favor to big media outlets and other donors by intiimidating Craigslist. It's unfortunate that there is so much corruption in our government.
There is no reason to delete this area of Craigs List we are suppose to have Fredom of Speach and press by taking away the press it is not going to stop prostution.. It is the oldest profession goes back to B.c. We all have our Free will and Choices so why is this going on Politician stoping Craigs List from having a Adult Listing it is a Election Year they want to Impress some of their Voters.. Sure I bet some of them must of been on these sites.. Or they would not be so gun hoe to get rid of it .. Perhaps some one has some thing on them for what ever Reason let the adult have thier rights as the United State is founded on .. If this is Stopped some thing else is going to start up so why not leave it like it was or just list it a male and Female. Just stop all of this going on reach a agreement . Bring back out Freedon to our Speach and Press.. lets not but them on the streets.. to get our children involved..
