This show should be given another chance. It was up against The Good Wife (a hit) and Parenthood (its audience popularity is growing). To top it off, they kept messing with the schedule. Really!...Charlie Sheen --LOSER--rehash. The finale --on a different night--was given little or no promotion, but was excellent. Great acting, great stories...please give us more 1-8-7!!

We love this show. The writing, the characters, the acting all clicks. Drama with humor and heart. And the gritty (and true-to-life) Detroit setting is a great character too. I agree with all the comments that she show has gotten better with each episode. Yet again, I think it's a scheduling problem that has hurt the ratings all along. Putting it against The Good Wife (which I also love), and against other shows we enjoy on cable channels makes it a tough call. We record all the episodes of Detroit 1-8-7 because of the conflict. It would be so disappointing to lose another quality program that hasn't had time to truly get its footing in a very rough time slot.

This is by far the best cop drama on tv. I wouldn't have said the same thing after the first episode but each one has gotten better and better with the finale leaving me saying WOW!! The fact that we were introduced to the characters on a personal level more slowly was probably a risk but after watching the entire season I have to say that it worked. It was like reading a book where more gets revealed in each chapter and you can't wait to see what happens. If you pull this program then I am sure it would be picked up by someone else and you would end up regretting it. The fact that we never knew when an original episode was going to air or even IF one was going to air was troubling. To take it off the air to show a Charlie Sheen re-hash of all the bits we had seen for days was a bad decision on ABC's part but ended up scrambling the end of the season for the show. I know many people who didn't even know the finale was shown on a Sunday. If you give it a fair shot, I'm sure it will be around for many seasons to come!

I love Detroit 187, it was shown on a night when there are too many good choices it was hard for this show to shine. The acting was impeccable, it was gritty, well written and interesting. I think on another night it would be a hit.

I agree wholeheartedly with what has already been said here; I've been waiting for a show like this ever since NYPD Blue went off the air, and this is the show we've been wanting. It's like a perfect blend of Blue and Homicide (another critically acclaimed but under-rated show.)

As far as the numbers go, I don't think 1.7 in the 18-49 demo is a killer. Harry's Law on NBC Mondays has been pulling less than that in the 18-49 demo (around 1.5) with around 8 million total viewers in all demos, and is almost certain to be renewed. If networks are concerned about the higher advertising dollars paid by companies during shows with higher 18-49 ratings, then 1-8-7 should be as likely to be renewed as Harry's Law if not more-so, since it has a much higher percentage of its approximately 7.5 million viewers falling in the coveted 18-49 demo.

    Keep it!

Detroit 1-8-7 is one of the best shows on television. It's an excellent cast, it's well written, and it gets better each week. TV is desperately in need of excellent shows like this. Instead, networks choose to fill the schedule with mindless reality shows. This is why people are abandoning the networks for cable. If ABC won't keep Detroit 187, perhaps someone else will.

Please give it a chance to find its audience.

This show is one of the best dramas on TV. It would totally wrong to cancel this show when they have these stupid reality shows on TV. ABC would be making a terrible mistake to cancel this show!

Detroit 1-8-7 is the best new drama show this year. It would be a shame on ABC if they do not renew it. The story lines and character are outstanding and it has been a great ride every week watching the characters grow. ABC...please give this great drama a chance...a better lead in show and a different time slot might result in better ratings.

Echoing waht has been said above. I live in Baltimore and this show rivals Homicide fro ma creative standpoint. Homicide ran for 7 yearsI beleive. 187 Deserves another shot withotu preempting and let's see what happens.

Detroit 1-8-7 is the best new drama on network TV! It's really a travesty that ABC isn't promoting the show or giving it a set date/time slot. Michael Imperioli and the rest of the cast are believable and the characters mesh like nothing I've seen since NYPD Blue. Please, ABC -- if you're reading this -- give 1-8-7 another season to catch on ... and stop shuffling it around!

Detroit 1-8-7 is one of the best shows on tv this year. Great cast, interesting stories and since it is actually filmed in Detroit and not on an LA sound stage, it has a realistic feel that other dramas don't. There have been only a handful of truly classic cop dramas (Hill Street Blues, Homocide: Life on the Street and NYPD Blue) and Detroit 1-8-7 is that kind of show. ABC has not supported this program and that is the real crime. I only watch two ABC programs, Castle and Detroit 1-8-7. The network gave Castle a chance to find it's groove, please do the same for Detroit.

This is easily the best written show on TV. Compelling story lines, Great acting, flawed characters. As a retired cop this is exactly what it's like in a squad room. Finally some one got it right. Promote this show find a spot for it and leave it there so people can get engaged with it week to week.I hope to see you give it another season to find it;s groove.

This show gets better every week. It's nice to see something other then NYC, LA or Chicago! The Actors are great, the Characters are compelling. The Stories are gritty and keep you engaged. It would be a shame to lose this show. ABC needs to promote it. They complain about weak numbers, but there was not much promo for this show and it kept getting push around. It just needs sometime to let the people find it. ABC Keep it and Promote it!!! Or let a cable station take it, but let the show live!!!!
