I have no clue what Effie was talking about!? This year is one of the best AI years. Scotty will definitely be a famous country singer one day. Scotty should have sung Barry White last week!! Could have been awesome! Pia could blast anybody off the charts! She is so far and above everyone else, she's in a different class. Hopefully, she'll relax and start mixing it up though. People are losing patience. Lauren has that "it" factor and a good voice, so I guess she'll probably get far. Cute girl. Haley has a good voice, but seems awkward. She needs to relax and just have fun. Thia is awesome, but needs just a year or two to mature. I could listen to James, without the screaming, because his voice is awesome, but I couldn't watch him for long. I don't like hyper. Casey, sing...not scream...and relax man. You could be a cool, mellow, soulful dude. Naima...no way...bye, bye! Stefano...so cute! Open your eyes and connect with the crowd dude! If you did that, and relaxed and let your voice take over, you could rival Michael Buble! Come on now! I guess I pick Naima and Thia to go this week. I can't wait to watch my recordings!

I'm usually doing other things when American Idol comes on and there are a lot of performances I don't stop to listen to (Pia and Thia, James, Scotty, Lauren, you know who you are.) But last night I set the iron down and watched Jacob and Casey and Paul and Stefano and Haley, and later I went online to hear Jacob and Casey's performances another time or two, or three. An interesting, unique voice can make up for a lot of flaws. And I could watch Naima do anything, though I don't hear a voice that makes me want to stop what I'm doing to listen. I suspect things sound different on different speakers, and I'm sure it's all quite different live, or if you identify with the singers in ways I don't. I doubt I could pick James' or Pia's or Lauren's voice out of a vocal lineup of competent singers, and Scotty has the voice you want on the radio when you're having an MRI and you need vocal Valium to distract you from the procedure. Lot of good singers this year. If I were voting I'd vote for a couple of them.

Paul: Has a unique tone to his voice, but i don't really see him getting very far. Casey: He has a great voice but he needs to stick with soft soulful songs so we can really hear his voice. I would also love if he played his stand up bass again, it really adds to his preformances. James: He tries a little to hard to be like Adam Lambert, but doesn't have the emotion to back it up like Adam did. Jacob: He can certainly hit the hit notes, but I'm still not sold on his overly dramatic preformances. Also, his tone is kinda nasaly. Pia: She's an awesome singer- one of the best voices on AI in the last few years- but she needs to stop acting like she's on some pagent and just be herself. Scottie: He is a true country singer, he doesn't try to be something he's not, but with that said, i think he can hold out his notes longer than he does. Lauren: She seems to be a nice person and she has a great voice, but i still don't think she has sung as good as she did when she auditioned. Haley: She has a wonderful bluesy voice but on stage shes kinda awkward. Stepano: He's ok but he'll be gone by next week. Thia: Her voice is shaky and she needs a few years for her voice to mature. Naima: Good riddens.

this is by far the best field american idol has had however i'm not feeling any of the girls...and i'm glad to see from this poll that i'm not the only one who thinks it's time for naima & thia to go. i'm loving all the guys actually, especially james & paul, even had a 'special' dream about scotty?! casey is adorable & talented. when i listen to jacob i can appreciate his talent but all i see is 'drag queen'. btw- they could have skipped the whole wildcard this year and we would have been much further ahead with the same crew!

No doubt in my mind that this is one of the best seasons ever for American Idol..... like the judges and contestants....however.....Jacob is NOT AI material.... church singer and perhaps musicals. Paul is a Rod Stewart "wannabee". Scotty & Lauren are excellent country singers and will sign a contract in the near future. I loved Haley last night....a good singer & entertainer. Pia.... a superb voice....needs more variety. Stefano is okay but has to work harder to capture the audience. Thia is doing really well for a 16 year old....definitely has a future. James is such a cool rocker....he will go far in the music industry. So for me, that leaves Casey & Naima...... not sure about Naima....changes it up alot and I think should stay on for a few more weeks..... summing it all up..... Casey & Jacob should go tonight..... then on with the show!!!!!

This is the most phenomenal season ever in the history to date of American Idol. I have been loving it! That said, it is time forThia to go hime. She has a lovely voice but is not yet ready to be a compelling performer. I like Stefano but he has not been knocking the ball out of the park. I could see him going home this week. Still, I see a contract for him in the near future. I enjoy Paul, although last night volume was uneven, to the point of being inaudible at times. Sad to say, I am getting bored with Pia. She has a great voice, but she could mix it up in terms of type of music, and she has not done that yet. Naima has a unique style and is an excellent performer. I loved the way she danced with joy and abandon. Jacob's "Sorry Is the Hardest Word to Say" was his best performance. He has grown as has Haley. Terrific delivery last night! Scotty is cute, love the bass, but needs variety. Casey is elegant. James rocks like no one else. Finally, judges and voice coaches are fantastic!

Jacob needs to up his game....he sounds like a Broadway Musical person now..too much drama and twisting of his mouth....and looking like he is about to cry.
He was so excellent the first time....was that his ah-ha moment? He really can sing so I wish him well.
Stephan...too little too late...you never open your eyes.....maybe next year!
Haley....knock them dead kido...you and Lauren are the best female singers...
    I would buy their CD's.
Pia thinks she is Celine Dion Diva.....get real...wear jeans and sing some other type of song.
Had Simon C. told her to NOT sing another Ballad...would she have listened to him?

Paul McDonald..you need to sing with a stronger voice..we cannot hear you yet we notice when you are too out of breath to sing the last notes....
