Should 'Skyfall' by Adele be eligible for Best Song?

If Oscar bigwigs deny a nomination for Adele's "Skyfall", that would truly be the last nail in the Best Song constant controversy. Finally this year, they have to have 5 nominees once again. I like that because it forces them to pay more attention to the song's interaction with the film--be it in the opening credits, main body of the film, or over the closing credits. That in itself to me gives this award more respect than what it has had in the past several years. Worthy songs such as the theme from Avatar and You Haven't Seen the Last of Me (Burlesque) or Bound to Me (Burlesque) will not have to worry about a numerical average in order to earn a slot. People often complain that there aren't any more good songs written for the movies. This year probably one of the best contenders in years--Adele's "Skyfall"--should be a shoe-in. Stop the nit-picking! There are only a few seconds of Monty Norman's original Bond theme used here. You can't forget that this IS a Bond theme. Bond themes immediately bring to mind the original. Much of what people say is copied here could actually be a Windmill of Your Mind (another excellent Oscar song). You're hearing what you want to hear and not what is actually there. Skyfall should remain eligible. It's a superior example of what an Oscar song used to be AND the best representative for the Bond films in years.
