I normally fly out of Atlanta, Memphis, or Birmingham because the price is so much cheaper. I live in Florence, so I try to find flights out of Nashville because it's less than two hours from my home. I would rather drive to another city other than Huntsville before paying the high prices at Huntsville Airport. I would love to fly from Huntsville because of convenience but the prices are outrageous.

Its obvious that prices are never going to drop unless we get another economy airline in here. The airlines make up all their money in the smaller markets where there is no competition compared to the larger markets. Where they can charge 175 bucks roundtrip out of Atlanta they charge 400 out of Huntsville for a roundtrip to wherever to make up for Atlanta's smaller fare. With no competition, I have no desire to fly out of Huntsville. I have my Southwest Visa and will continue to use it and use it and use it and go to Nashville.....

There's more to it than just the ticket cost. Baggage fees alone are a huge additional cost. No baggage fees for Southwest out of Nashville or Birmingham. For 3 or 4 to fly out of Huntsville tickets would actually have to be cheaper than Southwest from Nashville or Birmingham for me to be interested. For convenience I would love to be able to fly out of Huntsville but cost makes it prohibitive in almost any instance.

How about $0 dollars as an option on the poll??? They are too high now, so why even give then the option of $25 more dollars on the low end?

It depends on how many people are flying. For example, if 4 people are flying, $25/ticket adds up to $100 and we only have to take one car to Nashville.

Where's the option for "I would NOT pay more to fly out of HSV" ? Way to stack the deck, Paul.
