Natalie Portman has the experience and aristocratic looks to pull this off hands down. Ann Hathaway is not the correct physical type her eyes are to large nor is Julia Roberts whose mouth is to big and would distract from the story.
Katie Holmes although to tall is a good choice and I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Jackie Kennedy was physically petite

Winona Ryder, I believe, would be the best individual to play Jackie Kennedy. Her soft voice, dark hair, and small features just to name of few of her qualities fit the bill for the role. And I believe if given the opportunity, with her acting ability (despite the light in which a lot of people hold her these days as a result of several unfortunate and poor choices in her life that happened, as they do in people's lives--which have nothing to do with her being a fine actress in many movies), she would give creditability to the role. Come on people, be forgiving, and stop equating Hollywood perfection with truth.

I cannot bring myself to support any celebrity who is part of a certain organization which destroys family and harasses people, by its POLICY. Any money they make, in turn, is used for large donations into that organization. It is racist (use google -- also Jesse Prince has a nice video on YouTube), infiltrates federal government ("Operation Snow White"), and even has policies to kill (R2-45, also about people low on their 'Tone Scale': "dispose of them quietly and without sorrow." That's a direct quote. The founder also laid policies and desires so that the organization "becomes the government," and that anyone opposed th organization is considered "Fair Game." They "may be "deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."
Do YOU want to support that? I hope not.
But I, at least, have a level of ethics which compels me not to allow my money to indirectly go to the deliberate harm of people.

I think any of these women would do the part justice, however, Katie Holmes does LOOK more like Jackie O than the others. I have seen her in a few movies and she is a good actress. I don't think this has anything to do with her being married to Tom Cruise even though he is a heavyweight in Hollywood and the world. I think she got the part on her own merit and her looks and personality.

Does anyone recall the Parade Magazine poll from a few years ago where Tom Cruise was overwhelmingly favored? It was discovered that most of the votes had come from four computers at the $cientology headquarters.
I suspect the Katie Holmes support is a similar situation.

I don't know of anyone of any age group that will go to see this movie with her in the role!

Katie Holms is the sweet girl next door. I personally have nothing against her, but she is not talented enough to pull playing Jacki O off. She is very cute and personable and people like her, but that does not make her a great actress. You need a great actress for this part, not a popular mediocre actress. I can think of at least ten actresses that have far more talent, and each would make a much better choice for this part. Katie Holmes will not do justice to this part. The film will suffer.

Nothing wrong with the other choices but I think Hilary Swank would give the best performance and has the build and cheek bones to match. Just a thought to add more choices. There is a lot of talent out there and the role should not be based mainly on looks.
